Hours worked
Corriere della Sera – La Lettura
Artwork for Visual Data, the column on La Lettura, the cultural supplement of Corriere Della Sera.
The data visualization displays the annual average of hours worked from 1992 to 2022 for 30 countries. The selected countries are those for which data on hours worked is available from 1992 onwards. The indicator is measured in terms of hours per worker, per year. The annual average of hours worked is defined as the total number of hours actually worked throughout the year, divided by the average number of people employed throughout the year. The data cover both employees and self-employed workers. Additionally, the percentage change in the number of hours worked from 1992 to 2022 is also shown for each country.
